Microdermabrasion

What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a minimally abrasive treatment that gently exfoliates your skin removing the outer layers which are rough and thick.
What will Microdermarbasion treat?
  • Acne and mild acne scarring
  • Blackheads and milia
  • Collagen stimulation
  • Fine lines
  • Enlarged pores
  • Dull, leathery textured skin
What are the desired results?
Following a course of Microdermabrasion, an improvement in the texture and tone of the skin can be seen in addition to a reduction in the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles.
Is it painful?
Microdermabrasion is a generally painless treatment. Any discomfort experienced is usually short lived OR transient and resolves within a few minutes.
What are the side effects?
Redness and slight swelling after treatment can occur and should subside within a few hours. Later, you can expect the skin to feel dry for several days. Rarely bruising can occur from the suction and may last several days. After the treatment your skin will be more sensitive to sun exposure and extra care must be taken to protect skin against burning.
What are the pre and post care instructions?
The skin after a microdermabrasion can feel dehydrated so rehydrating the skin and replenishing the skin will alleviate any tightness or dehydration. Refrain from immediate strenuous exercise to avoid perspiration. Refrain from sun exposure and use SPF 30+ daily.
How many treatments are needed?
Effective microdermabrasion usually requires 5 - 10 treatments. Initially, treatments are biweekly followed by monthly to biannually maintenance depending on the patient.
What skincare is recommended?
